Project Title

“Secure and Energy Efficient Mixed Domain Compute-in-Memory-Based AI Accelerator Chip for Edge Applications”

The project focuses on research and development involving AI accelerator chips, compute-in-memory architectures, VLSI systems, computer architecture, and energy-efficient edge computing.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should possess either:

• Postgraduate Degree in Basic Science

OR

• Graduate / Postgraduate Degree in a Professional Course

Candidates should also have been selected through one of the prescribed national-level examination routes.

Eligible National-Level Qualifications

Candidates may qualify through:

• CSIR-UGC NET

• NET, including Lectureship / Assistant Professorship

• GATE

OR through national-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies/institutions, including:

• DST

• DBT

• DAE

• DOS

• DRDO

• MoE

• ICAR

• ICMR

• IITs

• IISc

• IISERs

• NISER

• Other recognised national-level agencies/institutions

Academic Requirement

The notification specifies:

• Minimum 60% or equivalent grade from graduation onwards

• Minimum 55% or equivalent grade in Class 10 and Class 12

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with B.Tech / B.E. / M.Tech / M.E. in areas such as:

• Electrical Engineering

• Electronics Engineering

• Electronics and Communication Engineering

• Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering

• Computer Science and Engineering

• Computer Science

• Related disciplines

Candidates should preferably have at least 60% or equivalent academic performance in the relevant degree.

Additional desirable skills include:

• Experience with VLSI EDA tools

• Programming knowledge in:

  • C / C++

  • Python

  • Verilog

  • SystemVerilog or equivalent

• Familiarity with Computer Architecture

• Knowledge of system simulators

• Exposure to:

  • Analog Circuits

  • ADCs

  • DACs

  • Chip Design

Salary & Nature of Engagement

• Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

• Consolidated Monthly Remuneration: INR 45,880

• The consolidated amount includes applicable HRA.

• HRA component: INR 8,880 per month, payable as per IIT Gandhinagar norms.

• Appointment Duration: 01 Year

• The position is temporary and linked to the research project.
