Overview of Role

Vanderbilt University Law School invites applications for a full-time Assistant Clinical Professor of Law.

The successful candidate will be expected to help develop a criminal defense clinic, contribute to non-clinical teaching, advise students, and engage in written scholarly or professional work consistent with expectations for leading clinical faculty.

Key Responsibilities & Teaching Scope

• Develop and contribute to a criminal defense clinic.

• Teach and supervise students in clinical legal education.

• Provide academic and professional advising to students.

• Undertake some non-clinical teaching.

• Engage in written scholarly or professional work.

• Contribute to the academic life of Vanderbilt Law School.

• Participate in faculty responsibilities associated with the clinical program.

Qualifications & Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications:

• J.D. degree

• Proven ability to teach students.

• Proven ability to advise and mentor students.

• Interest in developing a criminal defense clinic.

The final selected candidate must successfully complete a background check.
