Overview of the Role

The College of Business at Valparaiso University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Business Analytics beginning in August 2027.

The primary teaching responsibility will be the required undergraduate Business Statistics course. The successful candidate may also teach undergraduate or graduate analytics courses aligned with their expertise.

Teaching Areas

The position carries a 3–3 teaching load, equivalent to six courses per academic year.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Teach undergraduate Business Statistics.

• Teach additional Business Analytics courses where appropriate.

• Maintain an active research and scholarship programme.

• Contribute to university service.

• Mentor and prepare students for careers in business.

• Support the academic mission of Valparaiso University.

Prior teaching experience demonstrating effectiveness in both in-person and online settings is strongly preferred.

Essential Qualifications

Applicants should hold a:

• Ph.D. in Business Analytics, or

• Ph.D. in a closely related discipline.

ABD candidates may be considered if they expect to complete the doctorate before the August 2027 start date.

Candidates with relevant graduate degrees and significant teaching and/or professional experience in Business Analytics may also be considered.
