A historic leap forward for international higher education in India!

Congratulations to The University of Western Australia (UWA) on officially receiving its Letter of Approval from the University Grants Commission (UGC) for its upcoming Mumbai Campus. With this regulatory milestone, UWA becomes the very first member of Australia’s prestigious Group of Eight (Go8) universities to establish an approved campus presence in Mumbai.

Ranked #77 globally in the QS World University Rankings, UWA will offer degrees in Mumbai carrying the exact same global recognition, academic rigour, and curriculum standards as those awarded at its flagship Perth campus.

• First Go8 in Mumbai: Pioneering world-class Australian education right in the heart of Maharashtra.

• Globally Recognized Credentials: Degrees delivered locally that mirror the standards of UWA Perth.

• Inaugural Batch: The campus is all set to welcome its very first student cohort starting September 2026.

A fantastic development under India's progressive education internationalization roadmap, opening top-tier global pathways right at home.

Best wishes to the UWA India team, faculty, and future students embarking on this landmark journey!
