The University of Vienna invites applications for the position of Full Professor of Eastern Slavic Literature and Cultural Studies.

The successful candidate will represent Slavic Literary and Cultural Studies, with a primary focus on one East Slavic literature and culture and additional expertise in another East Slavic field.

Applicants should demonstrate expertise in:

• Russian, Ukrainian or Belarusian literature and culture

• At least one additional East Slavic literary and cultural field

• Transnational approaches to East Slavic studies

• Contemporary methodologies in literary and cultural studies

• Interdisciplinary and international research collaboration

Teaching Responsibilities

The selected professor will teach across the full range of East Slavic literature and cultural studies, including:

• Introductory and advanced literary-history courses

• Undergraduate and postgraduate programmes

• Teacher-education programmes

• Doctoral-level teaching and supervision

• Mentoring of early-career researchers

Candidates must be able to use at least one East Slavic language actively in teaching.

Academic Profile

Applicants should possess:

• Doctoral degree or Ph.D.

• Outstanding research achievements

• Excellent publication and research-funding record

• International academic reputation

• Proven leadership capabilities

• Experience in designing and managing major research projects
