University of Allahabad invites applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) / Research Assistant for a research project at the Centre of Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences (CBCS). The position is purely temporary.

Position Overview

Project Title

“Effect of Emotions on Language Code-Switching in Bilinguals and Its Neural Correlates”

The project is funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should have:

• A good academic background.

• M.Sc. degree in Cognitive Science; candidates awaiting results may also apply.

Candidates from related disciplines may also be considered, including:

• Neuroscience

• Psychology

Desirable Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

• Conducting computer-based behavioural experiments.

• Electrophysiological and fMRI experiments.

• Familiarity with relevant software and platforms such as:

  • E-Prime

  • PsychoPy

  • MATLAB

  • R

Fellowship / Salary

For candidates appointed as Junior Research Fellow (JRF):

INR 37,000 per month + HRA as applicable, as per DST norms.

Appointment Duration

• Initial appointment: 1 year.

• The appointment may be extended depending on:

  • Satisfactory performance.

  • Availability of project funds.

The position is purely temporary.
