Overview of Role

The School of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Superior invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Accounting.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality undergraduate instruction, advise students, maintain an active scholarly agenda, and contribute to service within the School of Business and Economics and the wider university.

Key Responsibilities & Teaching Scope

• Teach Accounting courses primarily on campus.

• Teach additional Business courses based on departmental needs.

• Potentially contribute to online teaching in the future.

• Advise students within the School of Business and Economics.

• Engage in scholarly and research activities.

• Participate in service at the school and university levels.

• Support community-building among students and faculty.

• Incorporate current teaching and research practices into courses.

Qualifications & Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications:

• Ph.D. completed by August 25, 2027.

• Doctoral degree must be from an AACSB-accredited institution or a similarly accredited institution.

• Academic emphasis in Accounting or a closely related field.

• At least one semester as instructor of record teaching Accounting or a closely related field in person at the higher-education level.

• At least one peer-reviewed journal article demonstrating scholarly activity.

Desirable Qualifications:

• At least two semesters as instructor of record teaching Accounting.

• University-level teaching experience in person and/or online.

• Experience using multiple teaching methods in higher education.
