The successful candidate will be supervised by:

  • Dr. Ursula Daxecker – University of Amsterdam / Max Planck Institute for Political and Social Science

  • Dr. Hanne Fjelde – Uppsala University

At the University of Amsterdam, the candidate will be based within the AISSR programme group Political Institutions and Identities.

About the DIViNE Network

DIViNE brings together research environments at:

  • University of Amsterdam

The network also works with partner organisations, including the new Max Planck Institute for Political and Social Science.

Its research integrates:

The broader aim is to develop a coherent research programme explaining political violence within democratic systems.

PhD Research Focus

This PhD position is part of Work Package 2: Democratization and Conflict Resolution.
