Overview of Role

The UCLA Department of Economics invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions beginning July 1, 2027.

Outstanding candidates from all fields of Economics will be considered. The position combines original research, undergraduate and graduate teaching, doctoral-level instruction, and academic service.

Key Responsibilities & Teaching Scope

• Conduct original research in Economics.

• Teach undergraduate Economics courses.

• Teach graduate and Ph.D.-level courses.

• Maintain a strong scholarly and publication agenda.

• Contribute to departmental and university service.

• Participate in the academic and research mission of the Department of Economics.

• Provide high-quality instruction at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Qualifications & Candidate Profile

Required Qualification:

• Ph.D. in Economics completed by the date of hire.
