Overview of Role

The School of Global Policy and Strategy at UC San Diego invites applications for an open-rank faculty position in Economics, with a particular focus on the Chinese economy and its relationship with the global economy.

The position is available at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. Successful candidates are expected to maintain a strong research agenda, publish in leading academic journals, teach at undergraduate and graduate levels, mentor graduate students, and contribute to selected service activities.

• Conduct original research in Economics.

• Develop research focused on China and the global economy.

• Publish in highly ranked academic journals.

• Teach undergraduate courses.

Qualifications & Candidate Profile

Assistant Professor Applicants:

• Ph.D. or equivalent international degree in:

  • Economics

  • Business

  • Management

  • Closely related field with a concentration in Economics

• ABD candidates may apply.

• Ph.D. must be completed by the appointment start date.

Associate / Full Professor Applicants:

• Ph.D. or equivalent international degree in:

  • Economics
