Tezpur University, Assam invites applications through e-mail only for the position of IPR Chair Professor under the Scheme of Pedagogy & Research in IPRs for Holistic Education and Academia (SPRIHA), sponsored by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India.

Position Overview

Eligibility Criteria

An applicant may be considered for appointment as IPR Chair Professor if he/she satisfies any of the following:

Academic Background

• Has served as, or meets the eligibility criteria for appointment as, a Professor or Associate Professor

• Possesses sufficient teaching and research experience in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)

OR

• Is an IP Attorney with a minimum of 5 years of professional practice in IPR

• Should have significant recognition in the field of IPR with substantial professional experience

OR

• Is a retired official of the Intellectual Property Office under CGPDTM holding a doctorate degree

• Should have served at an appropriate senior level such as:

  • Controller of Patents & Designs

  • Registrar of Trademarks

  • Registrar of Copyrights

  • Equivalent senior position

Additional Requirements

Candidates should preferably have:

• Strong academic and professional credentials

• Significant contribution to teaching, research, policy, legal practice, or administration in Intellectual Property Rights

• Relevant experience in IPR-related academic or professional work

Candidates above 70 years of age are not eligible for appointment.

Remuneration

The selected candidate will receive:

INR 1,50,000 per month (Consolidated)

An annual increment of 3% of the current remuneration may be granted after completion of each 12-month period, subject to applicable conditions.

Tenure

The tenure of appointment will be:

5 Years from the date of appointment

The engagement will be governed by the applicable terms and conditions of the University and sponsoring scheme.

Candidates currently in employment should submit an NOC from the concerned employer or an Advance Copy of the application as permitted under the recruitment conditions.
