Overview of the Opportunity

The Graduate School of Business at Stanford University invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions in Economics beginning September 1, 2027.

Stanford will consider candidates from all fields of Economics. The successful candidates are expected to demonstrate strong research and teaching abilities and contribute to both the MBA and PhD programmes at Stanford Graduate School of Business.

The stated base salary range is:

USD 270,000 – USD 290,000 annually

Approximately:

INR 2.56 crore – INR 2.75 crore annually

Final compensation will depend on qualifications, experience, discipline, internal equity, departmental resources, and relevant market considerations.

USD 325,000 – USD 375,000 annually

Approximately:

INR 3.08 crore – INR 3.55 crore annually

Final compensation will depend on experience, academic profile, qualifications, and other institutional considerations.

USD 395,000 – USD 470,000 annually

Approximately:

INR 3.74 crore – INR 4.45 crore annually

The final salary offered will be determined based on the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience, field, and other relevant factors.

Research & Teaching Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be expected to:

• Conduct high-quality research in Economics.

• Maintain an active scholarly research programme.

• Teach in the MBA programme.

• Teach and contribute to the Ph.D. programme.

• Participate in the academic and research activities of Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Essential Qualification

Applicants must:

• Hold a Ph.D., or expect to have completed the Ph.D. by September 1, 2027.

• Demonstrate strong research ability.

• Demonstrate strong teaching ability.

• Have an academic profile appropriate to the faculty rank for which they are applying.

All fields of Economics are eligible for consideration.
