Overview of Role

Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business invites applications for a tenure/tenure-track Associate or Full Professor of Finance. The successful candidate will join the Finance Department and contribute to its research, teaching, and academic leadership, with the opportunity to help shape the department's future direction.

The position is expected to begin in Fall 2027, with endowed positions also possible.

Key Responsibilities & Teaching Scope

• Conduct and publish high-quality finance research in top academic journals.

• Maintain an active and robust research pipeline.

• Teach high-quality courses across the School's undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs, including online courses.

• Contribute to university and departmental service and professional activities.

• Participate in academic leadership and contribute to the continued development of the Finance Department.

• Support student learning and engagement through effective instruction.

Qualifications & Candidate Profile

• Required Education: Ph.D. in Finance or Economics.

• Experience & Specializations: Established publication record in top-tier academic journals, strong working research pipeline, substantial teaching experience, and demonstrated excellence in teaching.

• Preferred Qualifications: Record of professional service and leadership in the field, together with continued promise for high-quality research and teaching.

• Additional Consideration: In rare cases, advanced Assistant Professor candidates may be considered.
