Overview of Role

San Jacinto College is accepting applications for its Part-Time Faculty – Economics (North) pool.

This posting is intended to build a pool of qualified instructors who may be contacted when teaching needs arise. It is not an active vacancy at present.

Part-time faculty are appointed on an as-needed basis for the duration of assigned courses.

Teaching Responsibilities

The selected instructor may be expected to:

• Teach Economics-related coursework.

• Deliver courses using methods appropriate to the subject and student needs.

• Teach evening classes where required.

• Teach weekend classes where required.

• Provide in-person instruction when assigned.

• Adapt to different course delivery formats according to College needs.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must have:

• Master’s degree

• At least 18 graduate credit hours in Economics

Appointment Conditions

• Part-time faculty are hired only when instructional needs arise.

• Appointment duration depends on the assigned course.

• Part-time faculty do not receive all rights, privileges, and benefits available to regular full-time employees.

• Some assignments may require physical presence at the designated work location.

• Evening and weekend teaching may be required.
