Position Overview

Project Title

“Reforming Land Titling, Tenancy Laws, and RERA Implementation Across Northern States (Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Delhi, Uttarakhand): Strategies for Unlocking Affordable Housing Supply”

The selected Researchers will work with the Centre of Excellence for Real Estate, Housing and Allied Laws (CREHAL) on research concerning land governance, real estate regulation, tenancy laws, and affordable housing.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates must:

• Be a Law Graduate, or

• Be pursuing a Law degree.

Applicants should also demonstrate:

• Strong academic record

• Interest and adequate knowledge in property laws

• Understanding of land statutes

• Knowledge of RERA

• Familiarity with urban policy reforms

Desirable Experience

Preference may be given to candidates with:

• Prior publications in peer-reviewed journals relating to:

  • Land reforms

  • Tenancy laws

  • Urban governance

• Experience in empirical legal research

• Experience in doctrinal legal research

• Field survey experience

• Experience drafting policy briefs

• Previous research-assistance experience

• Legal writing experience

• Mooting experience in:

  • Property law

  • Real estate regulation

  • Public policy

Preferred Research Skills

Candidates should preferably have proficiency in legal research platforms such as:

• SCC Online

• Manupatra

• Westlaw

Knowledge of research-data organization and management will also be useful.
