Overview of Role

Regis College seeks a faculty member to lead, revise, and strengthen its master’s programme in Criminology and Justice Studies.

The successful candidate will serve as both a faculty member and programme director, with responsibility for academic leadership, teaching, curriculum development, student mentoring, programme growth, and community engagement.

The role is designed for a scholar-practitioner who can help shape the programme in response to student interests, community needs, and Regis University’s Jesuit commitment to justice and the common good.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Direct all aspects of the MA programme.

• Oversee admissions and recruitment.

• Advise and mentor graduate students.

• Lead curriculum development and assessment.

• Coordinate scheduling and affiliate instructors.

• Participate in strategic planning.

• Build relationships with organisations working in justice and public safety.

• Develop internship and professional-network opportunities for students.

• Develop a strong 4+1 accelerated Master’s pathway for Regis undergraduates.

• Collaborate with faculty in Criminology, Sociology, and Justice Studies.

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses.

• Produce scholarship in Criminology, Justice Studies, or a related field.

• Support student career development and professional placement.

• Participate in divisional, college, and university service.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must have:

• Ph.D. or other appropriate terminal degree in one of the following or a closely related field:

  • Criminal Justice

  • Criminology

  • Sociology

  • Public Policy

  • Law

• Demonstrated excellence in teaching.

• Demonstrated excellence in scholarship.

• Experience with online and/or hybrid teaching.

• Evidence of successful leadership, collaboration, or programme development.

Preferred Qualification

Preference may be given to candidates with:

• Experience commensurate with the Associate Professor level.

Teaching & Programme Leadership

The position includes responsibility for both academic instruction and programme administration.

The successful candidate will teach courses aligned with their expertise and programme needs while also leading efforts to modernize and grow the master’s programme.

The role also includes mentoring graduate students and helping strengthen their professional placement and career readiness.

Working Conditions

The position is primarily based in:

• University classrooms

• Offices

• Campus academic environments

The role may also involve:

• Occasional evening commitments

• Weekend commitments

• Local travel for community engagement

• Meetings and programme-related activities

Regular on-campus attendance is required.

Salary & Benefits

The annual salary range is approximately:

• INR 72.67 lakh at the lower end
