Project Title

Development of Simulation Software “InSol” for Photovoltaic System Designing and Simulation

About the Project

The project aims to develop a user-friendly photovoltaic system design and simulation platform using ground-based solar radiation and climatic data.

The software will support:

• Feasibility assessment

• System sizing

• Performance analysis

• Simulation of residential photovoltaic systems

• Commercial and industrial rooftop PV systems

• Stand-alone PV systems

• Solar water pumping systems

• Street-lighting systems

• Small PV and micro-grid configurations

Appointment Duration

The initial appointment will be for one year and may be extended annually based on satisfactory performance and project requirements, up to a maximum total duration of three years.

Essential Qualification

Applicants should possess a PhD awarded or submitted in Physics, Renewable Energy, Energy, or a related field.

Candidates should have research experience in:

• Solar photovoltaic systems

• PV system performance analysis

• Modelling and simulation

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Experience using PV simulation and design tools such as PVSyst, SAM, PVWatts, PVCIS, RETScreen, PV*SOL, or equivalent

• Peer-reviewed publications with an h-index above 10

• Experience in PV performance modelling

• Experience with measured and simulated data validation

• Experience in developing or validating simulation tools

• Postgraduate qualification in Energy Sciences, Renewable Energy, Energy, or Environmental Science

Age Limit

The upper age limit is 35 years as on 1 July 2026.

Relaxation will be applicable to eligible reserved categories as per Government of Uttar Pradesh rules.

Fellowship

₹58,000 per month, consolidated for candidates with an awarded PhD.

₹46,000 per month for candidates who have submitted their PhD thesis.

Interviews will be conducted through Google Meet, and the meeting link will be shared with shortlisted applicants.
