Nalanda University, Rajgir, Bihar, an international University under the aegis of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, invites applications / Expressions of Interest from qualified and meritorious candidates for Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor positions across multiple academic disciplines. Indian nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and foreign nationals are eligible to apply.

Total Vacancies: 19

1. Professor

Pay Scale

USD 30,000 – 45,000 per annum

Eligibility & Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• An outstanding academic record, preferably with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade at the Master's level

• Preferably international teaching experience

• Ph.D. or post-doctoral research in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline

• 3–7 years of teaching experience as Associate Professor or equivalent

• Substantive experience in guiding doctoral and post-doctoral research

• Active engagement in research

• Preferably 10 publications comprising books and/or research/policy papers in peer-reviewed journals of national or international repute

Desirable

• Evidence of innovative courses

• Innovative teaching plans

• Strong research contributions

2. Associate Professor

Pay Scale

USD 20,000 – 35,000 per annum

Eligibility & Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• A brilliant academic record, preferably with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade at the Master's level

• Preferably international teaching experience

• Ph.D. or post-doctoral research in the allied/relevant discipline

• Minimum 3–5 years of teaching and research experience at national and international levels

• Substantive experience in guiding doctoral research

• Active research profile

• Preferably 8 publications as books and/or research/policy papers in peer-reviewed journals of national or international repute

Desirable

Evidence of:

• Innovative courses

• Teaching plans

• Research innovation

3. Assistant Professor

Pay Scale

USD 15,000 – 25,000 per annum

Eligibility & Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• A good academic record

• Minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade at the Master's level in a relevant subject from an Indian or foreign university

• Ph.D. or post-doctoral research in the allied/relevant discipline

• Active engagement in research

• Minimum 3–5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers published in peer-reviewed journals of national or international repute

Desirable

Evidence of:

• Innovative courses

• Teaching plans

• Research contributions

Candidates are required to pay:

INR 500 for each position applied for

The fee must be paid online directly to the University's bank account, and the UTR / Transaction Reference Number must be entered in the application form.

Bank Details

Candidates applying for more than one position must submit a separate application and fee for each post.

1. Log in to a Gmail account before opening the application form.

2. Complete the prescribed online application form.

3. Pay the INR 500 application fee per position.

4. Enter the UTR / Transaction Reference Number in the form.

5. Submit a separate application for each position if applying for multiple posts.

6. After submission, forward the Google Form Response Receipt, CV, and scanned supporting documents by email to:

Selection Process

Meeting the minimum eligibility conditions does not automatically guarantee an interview call.

Nalanda University may shortlist candidates based on:

• Academic record

• Educational qualifications

• Overall suitability

The University may conduct one or more of the following:

• Written Test

• Seminar

• Presentation

• Interview

• Other appropriate assessment

The selection process may be conducted in online, offline, or combined mode.

Important Instructions

• Qualifications and experience will be considered only up to the application closing date.

• Degrees must have been awarded by recognized universities or reputed institutions.

• Candidates employed in Government Departments, autonomous bodies, PSUs, or similar institutions should apply through the proper channel or provide an undertaking to produce an NOC at the interview.

• Shortlisted candidates must produce original certificates and valid photo identification for verification.

• Communication relating to shortlisting, interviews, and selection will be sent through email.

• Selected candidates will ordinarily be required to serve at the Rajgir campus.

• No TA/DA will ordinarily be paid for attending the selection process.

• Candidates who applied against an earlier advertisement are required to apply afresh.
