The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru has invited applications for one (01) Senior Research Associate position under the Juvenile Justice Clinic. The position is offered on a full-time contractual basis for a period of one year, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project requirements.

About the Juvenile Justice Clinic

The Juvenile Justice Clinic works towards strengthening the juvenile justice system in the State of Karnataka.

As part of the project, a Helpdesk at the Government Observation Home, Madiwala, Bengaluru provides:

• Legal aid to Children in Conflict with the Law (CiCLs)

• Psychosocial support

• Assistance aimed at strengthening access to justice and rehabilitation

The Clinic also collaborates with government departments and the judiciary to conduct targeted capacity-building programmes designed to improve the effectiveness of the juvenile justice system.

In addition, the project undertakes empirical research and strategic advocacy to support systemic reforms focused on the protection, rehabilitation and reintegration of Children in Conflict with the Law.

About the Role

The Senior Research Associate will play a key role in leading the research activities of the Juvenile Justice Clinic and ensuring the timely completion of planned research outputs.

Key Responsibility

• Lead the Clinic's research strategy.

• Ensure timely completion of planned research outputs.

• Contribute to empirical research initiatives related to juvenile justice.

• Support research-driven systemic reforms and advocacy.

• Coordinate with relevant stakeholders as required.

• Work under the guidance of the Clinic Co-Directors and/or Director of Clinics.
