Position Overview

Project Title

“Design and Fabrication of Sustainable Hybrid Composites for Next-Generation Bullet-Resistant Structures”

The selected Research Associate-I will work primarily in the areas of sustainable hybrid composites and 3D printing/additive manufacturing.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

• B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering with First Class.

• M.E./M.Tech. with First Class in one of the following or an equivalent specialization:

  • Design Engineering

  • Manufacturing Engineering

  • Additive Manufacturing

  • Material Science

  • CIM

  • CAD-CAM

• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with thesis submitted – mandatory.

Minimum Academic Requirement

For GEN / GEN-EWS / OBC-NCL candidates:

• Minimum 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 CGPA at both UG and PG levels, wherever applicable.

For SC / ST / PwD candidates:

• Minimum 55% aggregate marks or 6.0 CGPA at both UG and PG levels.

Desirable Qualifications / Skills

Candidates with knowledge or practical experience in the following areas will be preferred:

• 3D printing fundamentals

• Hands-on experience with 3D printers

• 3D modelling software

• Composite structures

• Mechanical testing equipment

• Tribological testing equipment

• Materials characterization techniques such as:

  • SEM

  • TEM

  • XRD

  • FTIR

  • DLS

Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will work on research related to:

• Sustainable hybrid composites

• 3D printing and additive manufacturing

• Composite structure development

• Material processing and characterization

• Mechanical and tribological evaluation

• Development of next-generation bullet-resistant structures

Salary / Emoluments

The selected Research Associate-I will receive:

INR 58,000 per month + 16% HRA

Age Limit

Maximum Age: 42 years

Age relaxation will be provided to eligible SC/ST/OBC/PH/Female candidates as per Government of India norms.
