The National Institute of Technology Warangal (NIT Warangal) has invited applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a TIH-IITG sponsored research project.

The project focuses on the development of Hybrid TENG/PENG Sensors for Underwater Applications and offers an opportunity for candidates from Electronics and Communication Engineering with interests in sensors, nanomaterials, IoT and data acquisition.

Position Overview

Project Title

Hybrid TENG/PENG Sensor Development for Underwater Applications

The project focuses on the development and characterization of advanced Triboelectric Nanogenerator (TENG) / Piezoelectric Nanogenerator (PENG) based sensors for underwater applications.

The research is expected to involve sensor fabrication, nanomaterials, electrical characterization, waterproofing, embedded systems and data acquisition.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess either of the following:

• B.Tech / B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) with First Class and more than 60% marks

OR

• M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) with First Class and more than 60% marks

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

Preference will be given to candidates having experience in:

• Nanomaterials

• Nanocomposite fabrication

• Flexible sensors

• TENG/PENG fabrication

• Electrical characterization

• Waterproofing and encapsulation

• Underwater sensor testing

• Arduino

• ESP32

• Internet of Things (IoT)

• Data acquisition

• MATLAB

• Python for data analysis

Hands-on experience in TENG/PENG fabrication and electrical characterization will be particularly relevant for the project.

Research Responsibilities

The selected JRF may contribute to activities involving:

• Development of hybrid TENG/PENG sensors

• Fabrication of flexible sensing devices

• Nanomaterial and nanocomposite-based sensor development

• Electrical characterization of sensors

• Waterproofing and encapsulation of devices

• Testing sensors in underwater environments

• Integration with Arduino / ESP32 platforms

• IoT-based data acquisition

• Experimental data processing and analysis

• MATLAB / Python-based research analysis

Fellowship / Emoluments

The selected candidate will receive:

INR 37,000 per month
