The National Institute of Technology Raipur (NIT Raipur) invites applications for the position of Senior Project Scientist at the Center for Mahanadi River Basin Management & Studies (cMahanadi). The appointment is purely temporary under the sponsored project titled “Studies on Condition Assessment & Management Plan for Mahanadi River Basin (Chhattisgarh)”.

Position Overview

About the Opportunity

The Senior Project Scientist will work at NIT Raipur's Center for Mahanadi River Basin Management & Studies (cMahanadi) on a Government of India-sponsored project focused on assessing environmental conditions and developing a management plan for the Mahanadi River Basin in Chhattisgarh.

The position requires expertise in environmental engineering or water resources along with experience in environmental and river-related projects.

Essential Qualification

Candidates must possess:

• Ph.D. + 1 year of relevant experience

Desirable Qualification:

• Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering / Water Resources

Experience Required

Applicants should have a minimum of one year of experience in conducting projects related to areas of environmental engineering such as:

• River water quality

• Water and wastewater treatment

• District river basin management and planning

Candidates with experience in field surveys, data collection, sampling and analysis, along with good knowledge of related software/tools, will be given preference.

Skills Required

Applicants should have:

• Strong communication skills

• Ability to prepare and edit scientific and technical articles/reports

• Experience relevant to environmental and water-resource projects

Remuneration

INR 75,000 per month

Appointment Duration

The initial appointment is for 6 months.

It may be extended depending on:

• Satisfactory performance

• Availability of project funds

• Project requirements

The appointment is full-time and purely temporary. The selected candidate will not be permitted to undertake any other assignment during the appointment period.
