The National Institute of Technology Patna (NIT Patna) invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for the recruitment of Project Assistant and Field Worker in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at its Bihta Campus.

The recruitment is under the ANRF-funded research project titled “SwarShiksha: Voice-Powered Learning in Indian Languages for Visually Impaired Children”, supported through the Advanced Research Grant (ARG) programme.

About the Research Opportunity

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at NIT Patna is recruiting project personnel for the research initiative “SwarShiksha: Voice-Powered Learning in Indian Languages for Visually Impaired Children.”

The project focuses on voice-powered learning technologies in Indian languages to support visually impaired children.

Funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) under its Advanced Research Grant programme, the project offers opportunities for candidates interested in engineering, programming, speech processing, data collection, and research support.

Available Positions and Essential Qualifications

1. Project Assistant

Number of Vacancies: 01

Monthly Remuneration: INR 29,700, including HRA

Duration: 3 Years

Essential Qualification

Candidates must possess either:

• Bachelor's degree in Science; or

• Three-year Diploma in Engineering and Technology.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• B.E./B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), or Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE).

• Experience in coding with C, Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or MATLAB.

• Knowledge of GNU/Linux.

• Knowledge of signal, speech, and image processing.

2. Field Worker

Number of Vacancies: 01

Monthly Remuneration: INR 24,000

Duration: 3 Years

Essential Qualification

• Graduate degree in any discipline.

Desirable Qualifications

Candidates should preferably demonstrate:

• Proficiency in MS Office and Excel.

• Previous experience in field data collection.

• Experience in data preprocessing, including data cleaning, transcription, and annotation.

• Proficiency in documentation and project report preparation.

Salary and Fellowship

The advertised duration of both positions is three years.

Appointment Duration

• Project Assistant: 3 Years

• Field Worker: 3 Years

Both appointments are associated with the ANRF-supported research project.
