Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar invites applications for 01 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) / Project Associate-I (PA-I) position under an ANRF-funded research project in the Department of Information Technology.

Position Overview

Project Title

Object Detection Framework for Electric Vehicles in Adverse Weather on Indian Roads Using Low-Cost Sensor Fusion

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess any one of the following:

For GATE/NET Qualified Candidates

B.E./B.Tech. with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA in:

• Computer Science & Engineering

• Electronics & Communication Engineering

• Electrical Engineering

• Instrumentation Engineering

• Artificial Intelligence

• Data Science

• Information Technology

• Allied disciplines

Candidates should also possess a valid GATE/NET qualification.

OR

M.Tech./M.E. in the above or relevant disciplines with a minimum of:

• 60% marks, or

• 6.5 CGPA

Desired Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates having prior research experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Computer Vision

• Deep Learning and Machine Learning

• Object Detection and Image Processing

• Sensor Fusion using Camera, LiDAR, Radar, IMU, etc.

• Autonomous Driving Systems

• Python

• PyTorch

• TensorFlow

• OpenCV

• ROS – Robot Operating System

• Embedded AI systems

• Intelligent transportation systems

Fellowship / Emoluments

For GATE/NET Qualified Candidates

INR 37,000 per month + 20% HRA

For Non-GATE/NET Candidates

INR 30,000 per month + 20% HRA

The fellowship is subject to revision as per ANRF / Government of India norms.

Project Duration

The position is for a maximum duration of three years, co-terminus with the project.

Continuation will be subject to:

• Satisfactory annual performance

• Availability of project funding

• Project requirements

The selected candidate will work in areas including:

• Electric vehicle perception systems

• Adverse-weather object detection

• AI and deep learning

• Computer vision

• Multi-sensor fusion

• Autonomous mobility

• Intelligent transportation systems
