Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar (NIT Jalandhar) invites applications from presently serving Professors of the Institute for appointment to the position of Deputy Director.

Position Overview

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the position of Deputy Director should satisfy the following requirements:

• The appointment will be made from among the senior faculty members of the Institute on the recommendations of the Selection Committee, in accordance with the applicable provisions of the National Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Statutes, 2017.

• Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience as Professor.

• The candidate should not exceed 60 years of age at the time of applying.

• Applicants should have served for at least 2 years as Head of Department (HoD) and/or Dean.

• Candidates should have made significant contributions to:

  • Academic activities

  • Institutional administration

  • Outreach activities

• Applicants should be eminent in their respective field of specialization and possess an outstanding academic record throughout their career.

Role Overview

The Deputy Director is a senior academic and administrative leadership position within the Institute.

The selected faculty member will be expected to contribute to:

• Institutional leadership and governance

• Academic planning and administration

• Strategic development of the Institute

• Coordination of academic and research activities

• Faculty and departmental development

• Institutional outreach and engagement

• Implementation of academic and administrative policies
