National Institute of Technology Hamirpur (NIT Hamirpur) invites applications for Project Associate-I / Project Associate-II under an ANRF-ARG sponsored research project in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The appointment is purely contractual.

Position Overview

About the Project

The selected candidate will work on the ANRF-ARG funded research project titled:

“Development of Energy Efficient and Enhanced Fatigue Life Gearbox by using textured gear sets.”

The research is associated with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, NIT Hamirpur.

Essential Qualifications & Remuneration

Project Associate-I

Option 1 – GATE/CSIR-UGC NET Qualified

• B.Tech./B.E./M.Tech./M.E. with First Class in Mechanical Engineering.

• Minimum 60% or 6.5 CGPA from a recognized university/institute.

• Candidate must have qualified GATE or CSIR-UGC NET.

• Remuneration: INR 37,000 per month + HRA

• HRA: INR 40,700 per month inclusive of HRA, as stated in the advertisement.

Option 2 – Without GATE/NET

• B.Tech./B.E./M.Tech./M.E. with First Class in Mechanical Engineering.

• Minimum 60% or 6.5 CGPA from a recognized university/institute.

• Remuneration: INR 30,000 per month + HRA

• HRA: INR 33,000 per month inclusive of HRA.

Project Associate-II

• B.Tech./B.E./M.Tech./M.E. with First Class in Mechanical Engineering.

• Minimum 60% or 6.5 CGPA from a recognized university/institute.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Research and Development in industrial and academic institutions or Science & Technology organisations and scientific activities/services.

• Remuneration: INR 33,000 per month + HRA

• HRA: INR 36,300 per month inclusive of HRA.

Desirable Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of MATLAB/FORTRAN.

• Knowledge of Tribology and Lubrication.

Age Limit

The applicant should not exceed 35 years of age.

Duration of Appointment

The appointment will initially be for one year.

It may be extended up to the duration of the project, subject to:

• Satisfactory performance.

• Provisions and requirements of the research project.
