National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh (NIT Andhra Pradesh) invites applications for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position under a Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) – Armament Research Board (ARMREB) sponsored research project.

The selected candidate will work on the project titled “Investigation on Corrosion Resistance of High Nitrogen Steel for Armor and Structural Applications.”

The position is temporary and co-terminus with the project, with a fellowship of up to ₹37,000 per month plus HRA, subject to eligibility.

Position Overview

About the Opportunity

NIT Andhra Pradesh is recruiting a Junior Research Fellow to contribute to a DRDO-ARMREB-sponsored project focused on the corrosion resistance of high nitrogen steel for armor and structural applications.

The research project is relevant to Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and related engineering disciplines.

The selected candidate will have an opportunity to participate in research related to advanced metallic materials and their performance in demanding engineering applications.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess one of the following qualifications:

• B.E./B.Tech. in a relevant engineering discipline.

• M.E./M.Tech. in a relevant engineering discipline.

The relevant disciplines include:

• Industrial Engineering

• Metallurgical Engineering

• Metallurgical & Materials Engineering

• Mechanical Engineering

• Allied branches

Academic Requirements

• First Class in the qualifying degree.

• Minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA, as specified in the advertisement.

Candidates without a GATE qualification are also eligible to apply.

Final-Year Students

Applicants currently in the final semester of M.E./M.Tech. are also eligible.

However, they must submit their degree certificate at the time of joining if selected.

Fellowship and Remuneration

The monthly fellowship will depend on the candidate's GATE qualification.

House Rent Allowance (HRA) will be provided as per institute rules.

Duration of Appointment

The appointment will initially be for six months or until the end of the project, subject to the candidate's performance.

The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the sponsored research project.
