Overview of Role

The Department of Accounting and Information Systems at New Mexico State University is seeking a full-time College Assistant Professor in Accounting.

This is a 9-month, non-tenure track faculty position primarily supporting students enrolled through the NMSU Global Campus.

Fully remote candidates will be considered, although occasional travel and participation in in-person activities may be required.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Teach 12 credit hours per semester.

• Deliver undergraduate Accounting courses.

• Teach using online formats, including:

  • Asynchronous delivery

  • Synchronous delivery

• Support students enrolled through NMSU Global Campus.

• Participate actively in departmental and College service.

• Contribute to an educational environment supporting students from diverse backgrounds.

• Participate in occasional in-person activities where required.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must hold either:

• Master’s degree in Accounting, or

• Ph.D. in Accounting

The degree must be from an AACSB International-accredited business school.

Candidates with a Master’s degree must have:

• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience

Candidates with a Ph.D. must have experience sufficient to meet relevant AACSB academic qualification requirements.

Preferred Qualification

Preference may be given to candidates who are able to teach:

• Undergraduate Accounting courses

• Courses using fully online instructional methods

Remote Work Conditions

This position may be performed remotely from most U.S. locations.

Candidates should have:

• A dedicated and distraction-free workspace

• Reliable high-speed internet access

Candidates residing in New Mexico are preferred, but residence in New Mexico is not mandatory.

The position is not eligible for employment from California, Colorado, Indiana, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Washington, or Minnesota.

Salary & Appointment

The stated salary is:

USD 87,410 annually

Approximately:

INR 83.10 lakh per year

• Bargaining-unit position represented by the National Education Association (NEA)

Teaching Environment

The successful candidate will primarily support NMSU Global Campus, which offers online degree, certificate, and professional-development programmes.

Online course delivery is a core requirement of the position.
