Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal invites applications for 01 Senior Research Fellow (SRF) position under a Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India-funded project at the Manipal Institute of Virology (MIV), Manipal.

Position Overview

Project Title

“Advancing Pandemic Preparedness: Innovative Multidisciplinary Strategies for COMBATING Severe Dengue”

The project is being implemented at the Manipal Institute of Virology (MIV), Manipal with funding from the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• M.Sc. in Virology / Microbiology / Biotechnology

• Degree must be from a recognized University/Institution

• Minimum 2 years of research experience

Desirable Qualification

Preference will be given to candidates who have qualified a National Eligibility Test such as:

• CSIR-UGC NET, including Lectureship / Assistant Professorship

• GATE

Preferred Research Experience

Candidates with prior research experience in the following areas will be preferred:

• Dengue / Arbovirology

• Viral infections

• Molecular diagnostics

• Cell culture

• Molecular biology techniques

• Immunological assays

• Handling of clinical samples

Desirable Skills

Applicants should preferably have:

• Experience in cell culture

• Viral/clinical sample processing

• Immunological assays

• Hands-on experience with PCR / qPCR

• Nucleic acid extraction experience

• Data analysis skills

• Scientific documentation and research reporting

• Good communication and organizational skills

• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary research environment

Job Responsibilities

The selected Senior Research Fellow will contribute to research activities under the DBT-funded project, including:

• Conducting laboratory experiments

• Processing and analyzing clinical/research samples

• Performing molecular and immunological assays

• Data collection, analysis and validation

• Maintaining research records

• Preparing scientific reports and manuscripts

• Supporting other project-related activities assigned by the Principal Investigator

Fellowship / Remuneration

The selected candidate will receive:

INR 42,000 per month + 10% HRA

Project Tenure

• Initial appointment: 1 Year

• Extendable up to 4 Years

• Extension will depend on satisfactory performance and project requirements
