📋 Overview of Role

Lipscomb University is seeking an Assistant Professor of Communication with expertise in the theory and practice of rhetoric. The successful candidate will contribute to the Powers of Words Rhetorical Sequence (POWERS) curriculum, particularly through teaching the Communicating to Influence course.

🎯 Key Responsibilities & Teaching Scope

• Teach the Communicating to Influence course within the POWERS curriculum.

• Contribute to the School of Communication through teaching in rhetoric, speech communication, and digital rhetoric.

• Support students through instruction and potentially through debate and competitive argumentation activities.

• Contribute to the academic mission of Lipscomb University as a tenure-track faculty member.

🎓 Qualifications & Candidate Profile

• Required Education: Master's degree or higher.

• Preferred Education: Ph.D. in Communication Studies or a related field.

• Experience & Specializations: Expertise in Speech Communication, Rhetoric, and Digital Rhetoric; college-level teaching experience is preferred.

• Additional Experience: Experience coaching debate or competitive argumentation, including research, evidence evaluation, and oral advocacy, is an asset.
