Overview of Role

The Herbel Family School of Accountancy at Kansas State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Accounting position beginning in August 2027.

The successful candidate will teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels, maintain a productive research agenda aimed at leading accounting journals, contribute professional service to the School, College, and University, and engage in ongoing career development.

Required Qualifications

Applicants should have:

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Accounting or a closely related field

• Degree from an AACSB-accredited business institution

• Strong potential to conduct high-quality research.

• Strong potential to publish in leading Accounting journals.

• Strong potential for high-quality teaching.

• Ability to contribute to the service mission of the School and College.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference may be given to candidates with:

• Strong research record.

• Publications in leading academic journals.

• Presentations at national and international academic conferences.

• Previous university-level teaching experience in Accounting.

• Strong commitment to student learning and engagement.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.

• Relevant professional work experience in Accounting or business.
