About the Special Issue

The Journal of Sport Psychology in Action invites submissions for its Special Issue titled "Advancing Cultural Praxis in Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology."

This Special Issue aims to move beyond theoretical discussions and highlight how cultural praxis is actively implemented across sport, exercise, and performance psychology. It emphasizes practical, culturally responsive approaches that integrate cultural awareness, humility, competence, contextual responsiveness, and applied action into professional practice.

Culture is viewed broadly, encompassing race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, disability, nationality, language, religion, socioeconomic status, and intersecting identities. The issue encourages submissions that demonstrate how culture meaningfully shapes assessment, intervention, decision-making, and outcomes while offering practical guidance that practitioners can immediately apply.
