The Special Centre for Molecular Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru University invites applications for one Senior Research Fellow (SRF) position under a research project funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT).

“Role of Iron in Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Inflammation in Microglia”

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• M.Sc. or equivalent degree in any branch of Biological Sciences

• Minimum 2 years of research experience in mammalian gene expression related to iron homeostasis

Candidates should also have working experience in:

• Mammalian cell culture

• Primary cell culture

• Mammalian gene expression

• Iron homeostasis

• Molecular biology

• Cell biology

Desirable Qualification

Preference may be given to candidates having:

• At least one research publication

• Preferably a first-author publication

• Publication should be in an area related to the advertised research project

Experience Required

The project involves rigorous experimental research related to:

• Gene expression in microglia

• Macrophage biology

• Iron homeostasis

• Molecular and cellular mechanisms of inflammation

Candidates with strong hands-on experience in relevant molecular biology and cell biology techniques are encouraged to apply.
