Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi invites applications for 01 Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) position in the School of Life Sciences under an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)-funded research project. The appointment is purely temporary and initially for one year.

Position Overview

Project Title

“Targeted Ultra-Small Mesoporous Silica Nanoparticles for Receptor-Mediated Delivery of Novel Luminescent Metallodrugs Towards Theranostics for Targeting Solid Hypoxic Tumour”

The project focuses on advanced research involving cancer biology, nanotechnology, theranostics, tumour biology, molecular biology, and targeted drug delivery.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should satisfy either of the following:

Option 1

• First Class Postgraduate Degree, including integrated postgraduate degrees, in Biological Science

OR

Option 2

• Second Class Postgraduate Degree, including integrated postgraduate degrees, in Biological Science

• Along with a Ph.D. in Biological Science

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

• 2D and 3D in-vitro models

• Cancer Biology

• Molecular Biology

• Cell Biology

• Animal tumour models

• Transcriptomics

• Proteomics

• Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) of tumour samples

• Bioinformatics

• Programming using:

  • Linux

  • R

  • Python

Candidates should also possess:

• Strong analytical abilities

• Problem-solving skills

• Research project management skills

• At least one first-author peer-reviewed original research publication

Salary / Fellowship

The selected candidate will receive:

INR 56,000 per month + 30% HRA

Age Limit

The maximum age limit is:

35 Years

Age relaxation will be provided according to applicable Government of India instructions.

Duration of Appointment

The selected candidate will initially be appointed for:

1 Year

The position may be extended yearly until expiry of the project, subject to:

• Satisfactory performance

• Continuation of the project

The appointment is purely temporary.
