Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), New Delhi invites applications from interested and motivated candidates for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position under an AICTE Research Promotion Scheme (RPS) funded research project in the Department of Electrical Engineering. The position is temporary and purely contractual.

Position Overview

About the Project

The selected JRF will work on the AICTE-RPS funded project focused on developing a nondestructive instrument using eddy current sensors for determining the pore morphology of mesh electrodes.

The position involves research in areas related to electrical/electronics engineering, instrumentation, sensors, embedded systems, and simulation.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess either:

• M.Tech. in Electrical / Electronics / Control and Instrumentation / Electronic Systems Design / Embedded Systems from a recognized university or equivalent with First Class degree

OR

• B.Tech. in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation with First Class degree and two years of working experience

Desired Qualification & Experience

Preference will be given to candidates having:

• GATE score

• Practical experience in microcontroller-based system/device fabrication

• Experience with FEA-based simulation software such as:

  • ANSYS

  • SolidWorks/CAD

  • MATLAB

  • Multiphysics software such as COMSOL Multiphysics

• Good technical writing skills

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively

• Publication of a research article in a SCI journal

Fellowship / Emoluments

INR 33,500 fixed per month for the first two years

Candidates may be considered for upgradation to SRF after completion of two years as JRF, with approximately 10% increment in salary, subject to excellent research progress and performance evaluation.

Appointment Duration

The position is for 3 years or until closure of the project, whichever is earlier.

Performance evaluation will be conducted annually. Continuation from the first to second year and from the second to third year will depend strictly on the candidate’s annual performance and satisfactory progress.
