Position Overview

Project Title

“Development of International Centre of Excellence for Dams (ICED)”

The positions are available under a consultancy/research project at the International Centre of Excellence for Dams, IIT Roorkee, sponsored by the Central Water Commission (CWC), New Delhi.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess an M.Tech. or equivalent qualification in one of the following areas:

• Civil Engineering

• Dam Safety & Rehabilitation

• Hydrology / Hydraulics

• Geotechnical Engineering

• Other equivalent/relevant disciplines

Candidates from NITs, IITs, IISc, or other higher institutes will be preferred.

Academic Requirements

Candidates should have an excellent academic record throughout their studies.

The advertisement specifies an average academic performance of more than 65% across:

• High School

• Intermediate / Class 12

• B.Tech.

• M.Tech.

Essential qualification requirements may be relaxed in exceptional cases.

Broad Areas of Work

The selected Research Associates may work in areas including:

• Design flood estimation

• Dam-related technical analysis

• Emergency Action Plans (EAP)

• Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Manuals

• Inflow forecasting

• Geotechnical analysis

• Dam safety and rehabilitation activities

• Other technical assignments related to ICED projects

Salary / Emoluments

Selected candidates will receive:

INR 30,000 to INR 75,000 per month

The final remuneration will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and suitability for the project requirements.

Appointment Duration

The appointment will be for:

1 Year

The position is temporary and associated with the sponsored research/consultancy project.
