The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for 01 Project Consultant position in the Department of Physics under a research project sponsored by the National Quantum Mission, Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India. The project focuses on quantum-enhanced modelling for urban climate systems.

Position Overview

Project Title

QUEST – Quantum Enhanced WRF Model for Urban Climate System Modelling

The project is supported by the National Quantum Mission, Department of Science & Technology (DST) and involves the development and application of quantum algorithms for advanced urban climate system modelling.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• Ph.D.

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience

Applicants should have an academic and professional background relevant to the requirements of the quantum modelling research project.

Relevant Research Experience

Candidates with experience in areas related to the following may be particularly suitable:

• Quantum algorithms

• Quantum computing

• Computational physics

• Numerical modelling

• Climate modelling

• Scientific computing

• Research project management

• Interdisciplinary computational research

Job Responsibilities

The selected Project Consultant will contribute to:

• Project coordination and management

• Development of quantum algorithms

• Testing and validation of quantum algorithms

• Supporting implementation of project objectives

• Coordinating research activities

• Technical and scientific documentation

• Other research activities associated with the QUEST project

Emoluments

Th selected candidate will receive:

INR 1,47,000 per month + HRA

HRA will be provided as applicable under IIT Roorkee / project norms.

Duration of Appointment

The position is associated with a research project having a duration of:

3 Years

The appointment will remain subject to the terms and conditions of the sponsored research project and IIT Roorkee.

• Industrial experience details, if applicable
