Position Overview

Project Title

“Comprehensive Analysis of Glacial Lake Dynamics in Ladakh and its Associated Risk Under Changing Climatic Condition Using Geospatial Techniques”

The project is being undertaken as collaborative research under the NICES Programme of NRSC, ISRO.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess an eligible postgraduate or professional qualification in one of the relevant disciplines, including:

• Geology

• Geophysics

• Applied Geology

• Applied Geophysics

• Geological Technology

• Geophysical Technology

• Geosciences

• Applied Geosciences

• Petroleum Geology

• Petroleum Geophysics

• Physics

• Mathematics

• Environmental Sciences, with Mathematics at B.Sc. level

• Computer Science

• Civil Engineering

• Electronics Engineering

• Electrical Engineering

• Geoinformatics

• Geomatics

• Remote Sensing

Eligible qualifications include M.Sc., M.Sc.Tech., M.Tech., MCA or an equivalent postgraduate/professional degree, as applicable to the above disciplines.

Candidates with postgraduate degrees in professional courses related to Geoinformatics, Geomatics, Remote Sensing or equivalent areas may also apply.

For relevant Remote Sensing / Geomatics / Geoinformatics qualifications, NET/GATE is required as specified in the advertisement.

Fellowship / Emoluments

• JRF: INR 37,000 per month + HRA

• SRF: INR 42,000 per month + HRA

HRA will be provided as per applicable rules.

Project Duration

The appointment will be valid up to the duration of the research project.

The position is project-based and temporary in nature.

Selection Process

• Only eligible/shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview.

• The interview will be conducted in both offline and online modes.

• The offline venue and online meeting link will be communicated to shortlisted candidates.

• Preference may be given to SC/ST candidates in case of equal qualifications and experience, as stated in the advertisement.

The selected candidate may get an opportunity for PhD admission, subject to the applicable rules and selection requirements of IIT Roorkee.
