Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) invites applications from Indian nationals for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under an ISRO-sponsored research project in the Department of Electrical Engineering. The selected candidate will also have an opportunity to register for the Ph.D. programme at IIT Roorkee, as per institute norms.

Position Overview

About the Project

The JRF position is available under the research project titled:

“Enhanced Protection-enabled GaN based High Voltage Electronic Power Conditioner for traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers for Aerospace Applications”

The project is sponsored by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Bengaluru and will be carried out in the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Roorkee.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• Minimum 4-year Bachelor’s degree, OR

• Master’s degree

The qualifying degree should be in:

• Electrical Engineering

• Electrical and Electronics Engineering

• Equivalent disciplines

National-Level Examination Requirement

Candidates should have qualified a national-level examination such as:

• GATE

• CEED

• JEST

• UGC-NET

• CSIR-NET, including Lectureship / Assistant Professorship

• Ph.D. only, as stated in the advertisement

The requirement for national-level tests such as GATE/NET is exempted for candidates having 8.0 CGPA or above in the qualifying degree from Ministry of Education-funded Technical Institutions, as stated in the notice.

Fellowship

First Two Years – JRF: INR 37,000 per month

Third Year – SRF: INR 42,000 per month

Appointment Duration

The project position is for:

3 years

The selected JRF candidate will have an opportunity to register for the Ph.D. programme at IIT Roorkee, subject to institute norms.
