The Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IIT Patna) invites applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a time-bound research project sponsored by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Government of India. The selected candidate will also have a provision to register for a PhD at IIT Patna.

Position Overview

Project Title

Study of Transport of Intensity Equation for Quantitative Phase Imaging

The selected candidate will work on research related to quantitative phase imaging, optics, experimental physics, and computational analysis.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• M.Sc. in Physics / M.Tech. / equivalent qualification

• A valid GATE/NET qualification

• Minimum academic requirement:

  • 6.5 CPI, or

  • 60% marks

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates having:

• Experience with optics experiments

• Experience in MATLAB

• Relevant working or research experience in optics

Fellowship

The selected Junior Research Fellow will receive:

INR 37,000 per month + HRA as per Government of India rules

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 28 years

• Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Women/PwD candidates will be applicable as per Government of India rules.

PhD Registration Opportunity

The selected candidate will have the provision to register for a PhD at IIT Patna, subject to applicable institute rules and requirements.
