The Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi) invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under an Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) sponsored research project in the School of Computing and Electrical Engineering.

Position Overview

Project Title

Damped Non-Hermitian Lattice Metamaterials with Flexoelectric and Piezoelectric Coupling for Wave Localization and Energy Harvesting

The project focuses on advanced research involving metamaterials, wave localization, flexoelectric and piezoelectric coupling, and energy harvesting.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess a B.Tech. or equivalent degree in any of the following disciplines:

• Electrical Engineering

• Electrical and Electronics Engineering

• Electronics Engineering

• Electronics and Communication Engineering

• Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering

Candidates should have:

• Minimum 60% aggregate marks, or

• 6.0 CGPA, or equivalent

AND

A valid GATE qualification (any year) in:

• Electrical Engineering

• Instrumentation Engineering

• Electronics and Communication Engineering

Desirable Qualifications

Although not essential, preference may be given to candidates possessing an M.Tech. or equivalent qualification in areas such as:

• Power Electronics and Drives

• Power Electronics

• Control Systems Engineering

• Power System Engineering

• Electrical Machines

• Equivalent/relevant disciplines

Candidates should have at least 60% aggregate marks or 6.0 CGPA or equivalent.

Research Areas

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work in areas including:

• Non-Hermitian Metamaterials

• Wave Localization

• Flexoelectricity

• Piezoelectricity

• Energy Harvesting

• Power Electronics

• Control Systems

• Electrical Systems and Machines

Fellowship

The selected Junior Research Fellow will receive:

INR 37,000 per month + HRA as applicable

Age Limit

The candidate should be not more than 30 years of age as on the last date of application.

Project & Appointment Duration

The overall project duration is 36 months, with the project scheduled to end on March 25, 2029.

The initial appointment will be for 12 months or until the end of the project, whichever is earlier.

Further renewal for additional months/year may be considered based on:

• Satisfactory performance

• Project requirements

• Availability/continuation of the project
