The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) has invited applications for the position of Project Research Assistant under the project “Centre of Excellence for Unified AI-Enabled Craft Ecosystem Platform.”

A total of 3 vacancies are available for candidates from engineering, science, management, computer applications, design, visual arts and other relevant academic backgrounds.

Position Overview

Project Title

Centre of Excellence for Unified AI-Enabled Craft Ecosystem Platform

The project involves interdisciplinary work related to Artificial Intelligence, Large Language Models, machine learning, software development, design, visual technologies, social sciences/humanities and real-world field data collection.

Selected candidates may be required to travel for fieldwork and data collection as part of the project.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess any one of the following:

• BE / B.Tech / MA / M.Sc / MCA / MBA or equivalent degree

OR

• B.Sc / BA / B.Com or equivalent degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience

OR

• 3-Year Diploma with at least 5 years of relevant experience

OR

• In exceptional cases, candidates possessing ITI (2-year course) in a relevant trade with more than 8 years of relevant experience may be considered subject to prior approval and justification.

Additional Requirements

• A Skill Test will be required.

• Knowledge of computer applications is desirable.

• Secretarial experience for technical and ministerial work is desirable.

Desired Qualification – Posts 1 & 2

Candidates applying for Posts 1 and 2 should preferably meet the following criteria:

Academic Requirements

• Class 10

  • General Candidates: Minimum 60%

  • SC/ST/OBC/PwD Candidates: Minimum 55%

• Class 12 or equivalent

  • General Candidates: Minimum 70% or 7.5 CGPA

  • SC/ST/OBC/PwD Candidates: Minimum 65% or 7.0 CGPA

• B.Tech / M.Tech or equivalent

  • General Candidates: Minimum 70% or 7.5 CGPA

  • SC/ST/OBC/PwD Candidates: Minimum 65% or 7.0 CGPA

At least one of the B.Tech or M.Tech degrees should preferably be in:

• Computer Science

• Information Technology

• Artificial Intelligence

• Electrical Engineering

• Related disciplines

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Exposure to AI and LLM programming

• Knowledge of Machine Learning

• Exposure to various programming languages

• Experience in areas related to Social Sciences / Humanities

• Experience with Visual Design

• Exposure to Advertising

• Experience with Image Processing

• Industry experience, particularly in Application Development

Desired Qualification – Post 3

Candidates applying for Post 3 should preferably meet the following academic criteria:
