Minimum Qualification

Candidates applying for the Assistant Professor position should possess:

• Ph.D. in the appropriate discipline

• First Class or equivalent in the preceding degree

• A very good academic record across all preceding degrees

Candidates should satisfy the department-specific specialization and academic requirements prescribed by IIT Kanpur.

Appointment Conditions

Fresh Ph.D. Candidates

Candidates with a recently completed Ph.D. may initially be appointed:

• On a contract basis for the first 3 years

• The appointment may subsequently be regularized, subject to applicable Institute rules and satisfactory performance.

Candidates with Post-Ph.D. Experience

Candidates possessing:

3 or more years of post-Ph.D. teaching / research / industrial experience

may be considered for a regular appointment.
