Position Overview

Project Title

Improved Draft Forecasting and Morphological Change Predictions Affecting Navigation in River Hooghly Using Computer Applications

The project focuses on improving draft forecasting and predicting morphological changes in the River Hooghly using computer-based applications, with relevance to navigation and river-system management.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should have:

• Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science

OR

• Graduate / Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course selected through a recognized national-level selection process, including:

  • CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship)

  • GATE

  • National-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies/institutions such as:

    • DST

    • DBT

    • DAE

    • DOS

    • DRDO

    • MoE

    • ICMR

    • IITs

    • IISc

    • IISER

    • NISER

    • Other recognized national-level examinations

Additionally, candidates should have two years of research experience.

Desired Experience

Additional skills and achievements that will be given weightage include:

• Experience working with GIS and Remote Sensing data handling

• Experience in hydrologic or hydraulic modelling

• Publications on relevant topics in reputed journals

Salary / Compensation
