Project Title:

Microseismic Wave Detection in Coal Mines Using Fiber Optic Geophones for Artificial Intelligence-Based Structural Health Monitoring

The project aims to develop fiber optic geophones capable of detecting microseismic waves in coal mining environments.

The research involves designing optical geophones and developing artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms for signal processing, data collection, and model development.

Essential Educational Qualifications

Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications:

Option 1: Engineering Postgraduate Degree

M.Tech./M.E./M.S. in any of the following disciplines:

• Electronics Engineering

• Electronics and Communication Engineering

• Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering

• Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering

• Optical/Opto-Electronics

OR

Option 2: Science Postgraduate Degree

M.Sc. or M.Sc. Tech. in Physics, Electronics, or an equivalent discipline, with a minimum first-class qualification from a reputed institute.

Mandatory Requirement: Candidates must have qualified the GATE or CSIR-UGC NET examination.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills

Preference will be given to candidates having experience in:

• COMSOL

• Machine learning

• Python programming

• MATLAB programming

• Relevant research and computational techniques

Fellowship and Remuneration

The selected candidate will receive:

INR 37,000 per month + HRA (as applicable).

The fellowship will be provided according to the applicable project and institutional norms.

Appointment Duration

The appointment will be for 12 months or until completion of the project, whichever is earlier.

As mentioned in the advertisement, the position may be converted into a regular JRF position of the institute at any point, subject to IIT (ISM) rules.

Age Limit

Age and applicable relaxations will be governed by the norms of the Government of India.
