The Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad has invited applications for 01 Project Associate-I position under an Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) sponsored project. The selected candidate will work on the development and optimization of Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) systems under the project titled “SANCHARI – An Efficient Generic Software Tool for the Synthesis and Validation of Cost Effective Time Sensitive Networks.”

“SANCHARI – An Efficient Generic Software Tool for the Synthesis and Validation of Cost Effective Time Sensitive Networks”

The project focuses on the development, testing, optimization, and validation of Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) solutions.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should possess any of the following qualifications:

• B.E. / B.Tech.

• M.Tech.

• M.S.

• MCA

• M.Sc.

Candidates should also possess an appropriate national-level qualification such as:

• GATE in relevant disciplines including Computer Science, Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related areas; or

• NET in:

  • Computer Science and Applications

  • Electronic Science

  • Mathematical Sciences

Candidates should refer to the official notification for the exact applicability of qualification combinations.

Desirable Qualifications

Candidates with strong knowledge and practical experience in the following areas will be preferred:

• Embedded systems

• Hardware setup and configuration

• Testing and debugging

• Raspberry Pi

• Arduino

• Sensors

• Ethernet

• TSN-enabled switches

• Candidate should ideally have hands-on experience with:

  • Hardware-software integration

  • Embedded C/C++ programming

  • Firmware development

  • Embedded code optimization

• Knowledge of:

  • TSN protocols

  • Real-time networking

  • Network scheduling

  • Performance optimization

• Candidates familiar with:

  • Algorithm design

  • Mathematical optimization

  • AI / ML-based optimization techniques

  • Application of TSN networks

Fellowship / Salary

The fellowship will be provided as follows:

• INR 37,000 per month for 2 years – for candidates qualified in GATE / NET

• INR 33,000 per month for 2 years – for candidates not qualified in GATE / NET

The appointment will be project-based and temporary.

Job Description

The selected candidate will work on:

• Hardware setup and configuration

• Testing and validation

• Embedded code development

• Optimization for TSN switches under the SANCHARI project

• Hardware-software integration

• Debugging and performance evaluation

• Validation of TSN functionalities

The role will involve research and development related to embedded systems, networking, TSN, and optimization technologies.

Important Instructions

• Only 01 Project Associate-I position is available.

• Maximum age limit is 35 years, with relaxation as per Government of India / IIT (ISM) Dhanbad norms.

• The appointment is temporary and linked to the ANRF-funded research project.

• The maximum tenure is 2 years or until completion of the project, whichever is earlier.

• Salary will depend on whether the selected candidate possesses a valid GATE/NET qualification.

• Candidates should carefully verify eligibility and upload all prescribed documents before the deadline.
