Coal Supply Chain Optimization using Artificial Intelligence

The selected Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will work on developing advanced AI and Generative Modelling approaches for coal supply-chain optimization and coal-data problems, with an emphasis on producing technology-oriented research outcomes.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence / Generative AI

with

• B.E. / B.Tech. / Equivalent qualification in any of the following:

  • Chemical Engineering

  • Metallurgical Engineering

  • Mining Engineering

  • Mechanical Engineering

Publication Requirement

Applicants must have:

• At least 3 publications in Scopus-indexed journals

Candidates should not have publications in predatory journals.

Fresh Ph.D. candidates are eligible provided that at least the provisional Ph.D. degree certificate has been awarded.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

Preference will be given to candidates having:

• Relevant research or industrial experience in:

  • Advanced Artificial Intelligence

  • Generative AI / Generative Modelling

  • Optimization techniques

  • Coal supply-chain systems

  • Clean coal technologies

• Postdoctoral research experience

• Strong academic record throughout

• Good scientific and technical writing skills

• Strong communication skills

Key Responsibilities

The selected Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will be expected to:

• Develop a definite research product / outcome at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 5/6

• Formulate and solve Coal Supply Chain Optimization problems using AI

• Develop Generative Modelling approaches for coal-data problems

• Review relevant scientific and technical literature

• Coordinate research activities with the project team

• Prepare technical and project reports

• Write research articles and publications

• Support laboratory management

• Interact with sponsoring agencies

• Travel for project implementation or execution, where required

Fellowship

The selected candidate will receive a consolidated fellowship ranging from:

INR 75,400 to INR 79,300 per month

The fellowship includes HRA and will be determined based on the candidate's postdoctoral experience.

Duration of Appointment

The position will initially be offered for:

1 Year

Extension may be considered based on:

• Performance of the selected candidate

• Project requirements
