The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) invites applications for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF – GATE/NET) position under a sponsored research project in the Department of Chemical Engineering. Selection will be conducted through an online interview.

Position Overview

About the Project

The selected candidate will work on the sponsored research project titled:

“Experimental Investigation and Process Optimization of Extraction of Rb (Natural Mix) and Rb87 with High Purity (>98%) from RbCl.”

The project is being carried out in the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Guwahati.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess a Postgraduate degree in Physics/Chemistry/Material Science or a Postgraduate degree in Chemical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Material Science and Engineering, or equivalent.

Candidates must also have been selected through one of the prescribed national-level eligibility examinations/processes mentioned in the official advertisement, such as:

• CSIR-UGC NET, including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship

• GATE

• National-level examinations conducted by Central Government departments/agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IISc, IISER, etc.

Fellowship / Remuneration

Pay: INR 37,000 per month
HRA: INR 7,400
Medical: INR 1,250
Total Monthly Amount: INR 45,650

Appointment Duration

The appointment will initially be for a period of 2 months.
