Position Overview

Project Title

“Understanding the Role of Environmental Toxins and GSTM1 Polymorphism in Infant Hepatobiliary Diseases in East India”

The selected candidate will work on this research project at the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, IIT Guwahati.

Position Details

Designation: Junior Research Fellow (JRF – GATE/NET)

Vacancy: 01

Appointment Period: 6 months

Monthly Remuneration:

• Recommended Pay: INR 37,000

• HRA: INR 6,600

• Total Monthly Amount: INR 43,600

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess B.Tech./M.Tech. or M.Sc. in an eligible discipline.

Relevant disciplines include:

• Biotechnology

• Biomedical Engineering

• Mechanical Engineering

• Instrumentation Engineering

• Biochemistry

• Microbiology

• Biomedical Sciences

• Veterinary Science

Candidates are also required to have a valid GATE/NET score.

Applicants should have qualified in appropriate national-level examinations conducted by Central Government departments, agencies, or recognized national institutions such as:

• DST

• DBT

• DAE

• DOS

• DRDO

• MHRD

• ICAR

• ICMR

• IISc

• IISERs

• Other equivalent recognized institutions

Desirable Experience

Preference may be given to candidates with prior hands-on experience in:

• Animal handling

• Mammalian cell culture

• Fabrication-related research experience

Selection Process

Selection will be conducted through an offline interview at IIT Guwahati.

Candidates are required to report at 9:30 AM on the interview date.

The interview is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM.
