Position Overview

Project Title

“Cell and nuclear response in a uniaxial stretcher with micropatterns recapitulating native tissue morphology”

The selected candidate will work on an interdisciplinary research project involving mechanobiology, cellular mechanics, microscopy, and molecular biology.

Nature of Work

The project involves several areas of mechanobiology, including:

• Cell culture

• Confocal imaging

• Image analysis

• Atomic Force Microscopy

• Traction Force Microscopy

• Micromechanics

• Molecular Biology

The work will be primarily experimental. However, the selected candidate may also collaborate on image analysis and computational aspects of the project.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should fulfil either of the following:

Option 1

• B.Tech. in Biotechnology

• Qualified GATE

OR

Option 2

• B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Biology or an allied field

• Qualified CSIR-UGC NET

Desirable Qualification

• M.Tech. in Biotechnology

• Qualified GATE

Research Area

The primary area of specialization is:

Mechanobiology

• Molecular Biology

• Microscopy and Imaging

• Computational Image Analysis

Salary / Fellowship

The selected Junior Research Fellow will receive:

INR 37,000 per month

HRA will be provided as per funding agency norms.

Medical and leave entitlements will be governed by IIT Goa norms.

Appointment Duration

The initial appointment will be for:

1 Year

The position may be extended further depending on project requirements and applicable terms.
